Accessibility and the LMS for students

For students experiencing disability, some aspects of the Learning Management System (LMS) may present difficulties.

If you would like assistance on any matter related to the LMS in general, please contact your subject coordinator first.

Another source of help is the Student IT Team. You can contact Student IT at their Helpdesks in the libraries or lodge a request at http://www.studentit.unimelb.edu.au/

You can also contact the Disability Liaison Unit dlu-enquiries@unimelb.edu.au for further assistance in using the LMS.

The LMS has core features that cannot be modified, and variable features which can be adapted for the specific accessibility requirements of students. We may be able to improve your access to the LMS if you book a consultation to discuss your access requirements and your subject choices. If you would like to book a consultation about your LMS subject please use the online help request form through http://servicedesk.unimelb.edu.au/itsc/lms/ or contact the Disability Liaison Unit at dlu-enquiries@unimelb.edu.au

The LMS Academic Support team has produced a number of guides to assist students experiencing disability to access the LMS. The current guides address accessibility for students with low vision and students using screen readers. These guides refer to the LMS version of July 2011.
