Known issue: Students can download PDF of their responses when Speedgrader is selected as the marking tool for Cadmus

When Speedgrader is selected as the preferred marking tool for a Cadmus exam, students will be able to obtain a PDF copy of their submission even after the exam has ended, and this option will remain available to them for as long as they have access to the subject.

Issue

When setting up an exam in Cadmus, staff can choose whether they would like to use Speedgrader or Turnitin Feedback Studio for marking. However, if Speedgrader is selected as the marking tool, students can download a PDF of their submission even after the exam has finished and the LMS assignment is closed. Students will be able to download this PDF as long as they have access to the subject.

This exam has closed but the student’s submission is still available for download

Workaround

Staff are welcome to continue using Speedgrader for marking Cadmus Exams if they are not concerned with students having access to their submitted exam responses. However, if these responses need to remain hidden, we recommend using Turnitin Feedback Studio for marking.

We have tested the Turnitin option and have confirmed that students are unable to see their responses after submission, and any grades and feedback will remain hidden as long as the LMS assignment itself is set to have a manual posting policy . Once the Until Date set in the LMS assignment has passed, students will not be able to access the Cadmus Exam.

Further information on marking using Turnitin Feedback Studio can be found in the vendor guides .
