Resolved issue: FreeText annotations in submissions do not zoom as intended when viewed in the Canvas Student app for Android

Issue

FreeText annotations can be used to post comments on student submissions.

Currently, while using the Canvas Student app for Android, FreeText annotations do not respond to pinch-to-zoom. Where the annotation text is illegible, the inability to zoom-in on the annotation means that students may encounter difficulty reading feedback.

Note that this does not affect Point Annotations or feedback posted directly in the comments field.

Status

The vendor has been notified and the issue has been escalated for investigation.

Workaround

View submissions with FreeText annotations using desktop and iOS devices.
