Known Issue: Posts made in student view are not removed after being reset

Discussion posts created whilst using the student view are not being removed after the reset student view button is pressed.

Issue

When teaching staff switch to the student view to test interactions with a Discussion, test replies are typically removed when the Reset Student View button is clicked. However, the posts will remain after leaving student mode.

Status

This bug is currently under investigation by Canvas.

Workaround

There is no way to completely remove the post, although the content can be deleted after returning to the Discussion by selecting the post’s vertical ellipsis, and selecting delete. However, a placeholder will remain stating that you deleted a post, along with the date and time.
