Known issue: Embedded content is removed from Calendar events

Issue

Staff may experience unexpected behaviour when adding embedded content to a Calendar event in Canvas.

When embedded content (for example, an iframe or embed code) is added to a Calendar event description using the Rich Content Editor (RCE), the content appears in the RCE while editing. However, once the event is saved, the embedded content is removed and does not display for anyone viewing the event, including in the underlying HTML.

Status

The vendor is aware of this issue and currently investigating a solution.

Workaround

As a workaround, instead of embedding content directly in the Calendar event description, we recommend adding the item as a Document within the RCE and using the preview options (overlay or inline) to display it. This method is not affected by the same issue.
