Resolved issue: Group Discussion availability settings

When configuring Group Discussions, availability dates cannot be edited on existing Discussions and cannot be added to new Discussions

Issue

When configuring Group Discussions, the Available from and Available to date and time settings are non-responsive. Any changes to the date and time fields cannot be saved. This prevents new Group Discussions from having open and closing dates, whilst existing Group Discussions cannot be updated. This also means that closed Group Discussions cannot be re-opened.

Status

This issue was resolved by the vendor on 12 September 2024. If you are still experiencing this issue, please let us know by submitting a support request

Workaround

Unfortunately there is no effective workaround for this issue. If available dates have not been set, the lock and unlock feature may provided some functionality.

To remove date/time restrictions from unused Discussions:

1. Edit Discussion.
2. Remove This is a group discussion check.
3. Click the Manage due dates and Assign to link at the bottom of the page
4. Clear the Data/Time.
5. Click Apply
6. Click Save.
7. Edit Discussion once more.
8. Re-enable the This is a group discussion setting.
9. Click Save.

However, there is no fix for group Discussions with existing posts.
