MATLAB Grader lets you scale assessments and automatically grade MATLAB coding assignments in Canvas LMS. You can use MATLAB Grader for formative assessments with automated feedback and summative assessments such as quizzes and exams.

Access and licensing

All University of Melbourne LMS users have access to MATLAB Grader through the University licence. Staff and students can access MATLAB Grader through their LMS subject.

Getting started

  • Navigate to your subject's Assignments area and create a new Canvas Assignment; select External Tool type, and choose MATLAB from the list
  • Follow the prompts to add a problem. We recommend referring to the MATLAB Grader assessment content for guidance.
  • When ready to publish, click Save as Final in the blue banner at the bottom right of the page.
  • Students will be able to access the questions once the assignment is published.
