Known issue: Kaltura Video Assignments

We have identified a critical issue whereby students could potentially alter video assignment submission AFTER it has been submitted.

Issue

Students are able to edit and upload submissions for a video assignment at any given time, even after the due date. This effectively enables them to overwrite any existing video assignment submission.

Status

The vendor has been notified about this issue and there is no ETA on resolution at this stage.

Recommendation and workaround

Kaltura Video Assignments should no longer be used as assessment tasks effective immediately.

To create assignments allowing for submission of videos,  staff may continue to use a standard Canvas assignment, with Online applied under Submission Type.
